Frederick W Young Sr., 64, of Coventry, died Wednesday at his home. He was born Nov. 12, 1925, in Rockville, th elate Frederick and Ruth (Butterfield) Young and had lived in Coventry for the past 33 years. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and the former owner of the Coventry Riding Stables. He is survived by his wife, Gertrude (LaPorte) Young of Coventry; two sons, Fredrick W. Young Jr. of Columbia and Martin J. Young of Scotland: one daughter, Jeanne Mattson of Lake Worth, Fla.; one sister Barbara Schaefer of West Hartford; nine grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral

Young-Frederick W. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday from the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Willimantic. The Rev. Toni Quinn will officiate. Burial will follow in New Coventry Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
