Mary WITHEE
That Aged Lady Died Last Monday Morning

Mrs. Mary Martin-Withee, one of Northville's best known and most hightly respected pioneer women, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. C. Nicolls in this village Monday morning. She was born in Little Falls NY in 1824 and came to Northville in 1836, since which time, with the exception of five years, she has been a resident of this place. Mr Withee, to whom she was married in 1844, died some twelve years ago.

Mrs.Withee united with the Methodist Society in 1836 and had the distinction of being the oldest Methodist in Northville. In her younger days she attended school in the Stone school-house here. To Mr. and Mrs. Withee there were born two sons and five daughters" Mrs. Ira Daines, Mrs. Slater, Mrs. J.N. Emery and J.J. Withee of Detroit, George Withee of Grand Rapids and Mrs. S. Clark and Mrs. W. C. Nichols of this place.

The funeral occurred from the home Wednesday afternoon, Ref. W. M. Ward officiating.
