Arthur L. Withee, 81, of 73 Bay Street, died Thursday morning at a local hospital where he had been a patient the past nine days. He was born in Winslow, Nov. 29, 1882 the son of Charles L. and Fannie M. (Spencer) Withee.
He was a lifelong resident of Winslow and attended public schools there. Later he was in business with his father, the late Charles L. Withee, then operated a dairy farm until his retirement several years ago.
Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Ralph Simpson, Winslow, and Mrs. Harry Harmon, Waterville, a nephew, Charles E. Harmon of Waterville.
Funeral services will be held at the Redington Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. Arthur Durbin, pastor of the Winslow Congregational Church officiating. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today.
