Alma A. Libby Withee
1905-1976


Eddington - Alma A. Withee, 70, died May 14 in a local hospital. She was born in Chester, December 9, 1905, the daughter of George and Alma (Ireland) Libby. She was employed as a furrier for a number of years at Lyford & Woodard, Freeses, and Samuel Crocker. She was a member of the North Brewer - Eddington Methodist Church, formerly a member of the First Methodist Church of Brewer, a member of U.M.W. of the North Brewer Eddington Methodist Church, and the Ladies Circle of Eddington. She is survived by her step-mother, Jessie I. Libby, Eddington; three sons, George A. of Dedham, Earl R. of Aurora, Colorado, and Carl L. of Belfast; three daughters, Mrs. Irene Eaton of Eddington, Mrs. Ella Milheron of Bangor, and Mrs. Jane Hardy of Eddington; one half brother, Wilbur Libby of Eddington; one sister, Mrs. Lena Grover of Eddington; one half sister, Mrs. Clara Kent of Eddington; sixteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the North Brewer Eddington Methodist Church, the Rev. Lynne Joselyn officiating. Burial will be in Blackman Cemetery, Eddington. Friends may call at the Philip E. Piper Funeral Home 185 North Main Street, Brewer, Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friends who wish may make donations in her memory to the Muscular Dystrophy Association C.O Canal National Bank, 14 Congress Square, Portland, Maine.
