William Francis Carnell
1854-1934


William Francis Carnell, 80, a retired farmer, died Friday evening at his home, 71 East Kingman avenue, at 6:45 o’clock following a severe illness of seven days. He had been in poor health for several years. Mr. Carnell was born in England, January 13, 1854, and came to this country with his parents at the age of three years. For many years he lived on a farm west of Urbandale. He had lived in Battle Creek for the last three years. Mr. Carnell is survived by his widow, Henrietta; three sons, William Herbert of Sonoma, Harry Thomas of Orlando, Fla., and Fred Earl of Albion; two daughters, Mrs. Fannie Pennock, living at home, and Mrs. Daisy Arnold of Kalkaska; two sisters and one brother in England; one niece and one nephew in Kalkaska; several grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the residence. Dr. Lloyd H,. Nixon will conduct the services and burial will be made in the Bedford cemetery.
