Quivey, WASHINGTON OBSERVER; Saturday, 5 Mar 1927, p.1; Citizens Library of Washington, Pennsylvania. NOTE: "James M. Quivey, aged 88 years, veteran of the Civil war, and a member of Company D, Ringgold cavalry, 22nd regiment, died at his home in Pike street...Mr. Quivey served in the War of the Rebellion in the famous Ringgold command for two years and ten months and was one of the last of the veterans in this community. A native of Chartiers township, Mr. Quivey spent practically all his life in this community, being a widely known farmer until his retirement some years ago. Mr. Quivey was born March 1, 1839 in chartiers townshkp. In 1867 he was married to Mary White, who died in 1904. In 1912 Mr. Quivey married Mary T. Camp, who survives. Mr. Quivey, aslo, leaves the following sons and daughters by his first wife: John W. Quivey, Chartiers township; Hary G. Quivey Wylandville; Mrs. Allie Porter, Houston; Miss Lena E. Quivey, Sewickley, and Mrs. Charles Campbell of Beaver. Eleven grandhildren and eight great grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be held at the Houston United Presbyterian church of which Mr. Quivey was a member, Monday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock... Interment will be in the Oak Springs cemetery."


James married Mary White, daughter of James White and Mary Ann Galbreath, on 1 May 1869 in , , Pennsylvania.1 (Mary White was born on 28 Jan 1841 in , Washington, Pennsylvania 2, died on 15 Dec 1904 in Chartiers Twp, Washington, Pennsylvania 2 and was buried in Oak Spring Cemetery, Canonsburg, Washington, Pennsylvania 2.)

James also married Mary Thompson on 4 Jun 1912.1 (Mary Thompson was born on 26 Apr 1850 and died on 22 Aug 1937.)
